Striped Chest.

Posting two days in a row, now that's a change. Ha! It feels good to have two pieces done in less than a week! Thanks to some help from my mother ;)

Here's the other chest piece that I posted a few weeks ago. I wanted the stripes to be as imperfect as possible while still lining up with each other. And the original hardware is just painted and sanded. I love how it turned out. Makes me want to keep her :(

Green it is.

Okay, so here's the reveal of the waterfall dresser that I posted a few weeks ago. She is not perfect but that's okay. The imperfections are good. At least I think so anyway. I decided on a green/white two tone with black knobs. I wanted to do something different. And I'm kind of liking these waterfall pieces I've been finding lately. They are more modern, but still fun and vintage looking.

{Sorry for the splatter of paint on the floor - my bad}

Owl Book Ends

I had to share these cute little owl book ends I found for under two bucks at a thrift store. I have looked up similar ones at barnesandnoble.com and they are close to $40. That's crazy. I knew they had potential when I saw them - just a little white spray paint and they look modern and oh so cute! So excited for these things - my little boy loves owls and now he has two that will go in his room!

Dresser projects and a good find.

Hey guys!

I know its been a couple weeks since I've posted. I'm sorry. I've had some family stuff to sort out and have been staying with family for the past 2 weeks. I have been itching to show you all some things I've been working on. I will have access to my husband's nice camera tomorrow and will hopefully find time to take some detail shots of some of my projects. Here are some finds that I picked up last week.

Antique Dresser - I've already finished this one and will hopefully have some after pics soon!

Waterfall dresser - still deciding on color

And lastly, this gorgeous antique mirror. I found this thing for $15. Can't really decide if I'm going to paint it or not - I kind of like the gold. What do you guys think? I need some ideas.

A few setbacks and a thank you.

For the past several days I've been itching to get started on new paint projects. But truth be told I've had a few setbacks this week. Last Sunday night I fell down the stairs at my parents house and hit my tailbone and lower back pretty good. I'm okay, but just now realizing the soreness is not going to go away overnight. And THEN, early Tuesday morning I woke up with the stomach bug and was on the couch for two days - which was pretty miserable. But I am feeling much better and slowly my back is feeling much better. I promise I will have some good posts for you guys to read soon!

In addition to my setbacks, I also just wanted to thank everyone for all the sweet comments, and for just taking a look at my blog and being a follower. Its been a eye opener to think that people actually like what I do and what I have a passion for, and that a large amount of people share my passion. Its been great hearing your comments and thoughts on paint color, furniture detail, etc. So thank you all so much for just looking, commenting, and being a follower! It means so much!

Sincerely,

Kelsey ;)
