Free paint at Ace Hardware

Just wanted to post this great freebie! (I'm sure most of you that read my blog would appreciate this)

You can grab a FREE quart of Clark & Kensington paint at Ace Hardware this Saturday (May 5th). I grabbed a quart a few weeks ago in a pretty mustard yellow that I used on wall frames and really like the quality. And in my opinion, free paint, is free paint, and that's a great bargain! Reusing empty frames for wall art

Here is a super easy way to transform a wall with empty frames. I've been wanting to do one for a while, but waited until I found some frames that looked just right. I still may add more to the wall. The frames are easy to find at any thrift store and these I found were from $.49 - $1.00 each. I've been keeping my eyes open and have just picked up a few at a time while out thrifting. I used paint I had sitting around for furniture and other projects and then sanded down for a more rustic look. Super duper easy as can be :)

I want these items in my home :)

So I've been absent from blogging recently. And I apologize for that. It still surprises me that I have as many readers as I do, and I am so thankful for you people out there that my blog inspires. Thank you for still coming back! Although it seems like I can never keep up with other bloggers who tend to have posts every single day. I stay so busy with other things its all I can do to accomplish projects I have, even yet to take pictures of them, download them, edit them, and then post them to the blog. I love so much about re-purposing old things, that I've hated not being able to share my findings recently.

So, on a good note :) Here are some great finds that I came across in one of my favorite thrift stores. I would love to grab these up, but I promised myself I needed to finish projects I already have lying around the house. {I'm sure some of you can relate to this statement}

Enjoy :)

Something bold and bright.

So here's the waterfall piece I've been working on lately. I wanted to do something fun and bold on this one and the colors really make the dresser stand out ! I love turquoise on basically anything and had some grey paint laying around which I thought would go great together to make the black handles really pop. I've been finding some great waterfall style pieces lately and have really enjoyed working on them. They have more of a modern look but yet also look vintage.

Raleigh craigslist potential finds

So today I wanted to do a post giving examples of potential furniture finds on Craigslist. I know you all know that you can find some really cool pieces at really great prices. But... if you don't shop on Craigslist, here is why you should!

 If I didn't have 4 pieces right now to work on, then I would definitely try to grab these up.

First up, is this antique waterfall style vanity - $65

 I love this one from European Paint Finishes. Perfect for a little girl's room.

And this antique sideboard below I found on Craigslist for $78

I love the two-toned grey and white in this one by Vintage Junky.

And this great chest of drawers for $40. I love the round legs.

And this one from Design Sponge is simply stunning.

Striped Chest.

Posting two days in a row, now that's a change. Ha! It feels good to have two pieces done in less than a week! Thanks to some help from my mother ;)

Here's the other chest piece that I posted a few weeks ago. I wanted the stripes to be as imperfect as possible while still lining up with each other. And the original hardware is just painted and sanded. I love how it turned out. Makes me want to keep her :(

Green it is.

Okay, so here's the reveal of the waterfall dresser that I posted a few weeks ago. She is not perfect but that's okay. The imperfections are good. At least I think so anyway. I decided on a green/white two tone with black knobs. I wanted to do something different. And I'm kind of liking these waterfall pieces I've been finding lately. They are more modern, but still fun and vintage looking.

{Sorry for the splatter of paint on the floor - my bad}
